Geto Suguru's Season

WARNING: INCLUDES SPOILERS!!! DO NOT READ.

After the death of Geto Suguru in Jujutsu Kaisen Movie 0. Fans are left questioning Geto's past. Why does he hate non-socerors so much? What made him want to kill non-sorcerors?

Then...

July 6th of this year, Season 2 of Jujustu Kaisen drops. In the first episode we are introduced to 17-year-old Geto Suguru, reflecting on the summer he changed his path. He gives us insight on his abilities as a jujutsu technique and absorption. 'Exorcise, absorb over and over again.'

Established as a character with a sense of duty, he acts as a moral compass to Satoru. He even goes far as to say the strong protect the weak, so they are not exposed to the dangers of the Jujutsu world. Whilst having first-hand experience with the ugly side of non-jujutsu sorcerors. He still fought to protect them.

But what led to his current path?

  1. Separate Missions

Satoru and Suguru were always assigned missions together, however, after Amanai's death, they were assigned missions separately. In Episode 5, Suguru narrates that Satoru had become the strongest special-grade user. After the events of Toji's death, both were assigned on separate missions.

2. The Hasaba Twins

Nanako and Mimiko Hasaba twins met Suguru met during a solo mission. He found the twins were being blamed for the cursed spirit activity in the village when he explained that he dealt with the cause. He then decided his true feelings towards non-sorcerors.

3. Jujustu World

The Jujustu world is not easy to live in. However, in this particular world, there seems to be a habit of forgetting that students of Jujustu High are still high schoolers, who require guidance and counsel. That aspect is ignored in Suguru's case.

The real question is?

If the nature of the Jujustu world changes, does that really mean someone like Suguru Geto wouldn't go down the path he did?
